Total Distance = 1000 km + 400 m
= 1000.4 km
Total time = 31/2 hrs + 30 min
= 16 hrs
Average speed = Total distance / Total time
= 1000.4 / 16
= 62.525 km/hr

how did you plus 31/2 and 30. because one is in hours and other one is in minutes
30 min = 1/2 hr
31/2 hr + 1/2 hr = 32/2 = 16 hrs
