a train travels a distance of 480 km at a uniform speed.if the speed had been 8km/h less, then it would have taken 3 hours more to cover the same distance.we need to find the speed of the train.
plzz try to give ans fast...

Let the spees of the train be v and the distance which have to cover be x and time taken be t
.
Given
x=480km
In first case train have to cover 480km in the hours.
speed the train,(v) = 480/t..............(1)
In second case ,

speed had been 8km/h less, then it would have taken 3 hours more to cover the same distance.
so speed= v-8
time = t+3 hours.
So ,
speed of train ,
v-8 = 480/(t+3).........................(2).

speed of train= 40km/hr.
