A train travels at a speed of 60 km/h for 1 h and travels at a speed of 80 km/h for the
next hour. Find the average speed of the train.
A racing car covers 3 laps in 5 min. The distance travelled per lap is 400 m.
Find the average velocity of the car.​

The average speed of the train is =(60+80)/2

=140/2

=70km/h.

distance covered by car in one laps=400m

distance covered by car in 3 laps= 400×3=1200m

Time taken by the car to cover 1200m=5 min or 5/60 hr=1/12hr

average speed velocity of car= 1200/1/12

=1200×12

= 14400km/h
