A train travels at a speed of 60 km/hr for 0.52hr, at 30 km/h for the next 0.24 hr and then at 70 km/h for the next 0.71h.What is the average speed of the train?

average speed = distance travelled /time taken

we know here speed and time is given only so to find average speed we need to find its distance.

speed=ditance/time

60=s/0.52

s=31.2km

similarly

30=s/0.24

s=0.24*60=14.4km

and

70=s/0.71

s=70*0.71=49.7

now add distance travelled and time taken and divide them

31.2+14.4+49.7=95.3

time=0.52+0.24+0.71=1.47

average speed = 95.3/1.47=64.82km/h
