Let x be the speed of the train ,

Therefore time=distance/speed

=360/x

According to the question

360/x - 360/x+5 = 48

Taking 360 as common we get

360(1/x -1/×+5)= 48

Taking 360 to the RHS part

(1/x -1/x+5) = 48÷ 360

(1/x -1/x+5) = 6/45

Taking lcm in LHS

5/x^2 -5x =6/45

Apply cross multiplication

5(45)= 6(x^2-5x )

225= 6x^2 -30x

6x^2 -30x - 225 =0

Solve using quadratic formula or completing square

Final answer = 40km/hr
