a train travels for 3 hours at 20km an hour. how long will it take another train to travel the same distance at 10km per hour​

As per the definition of average speed, it is basically total distance travelled divided by total time taken

Averagespeed=

Totaldistance/Totaltime

Here total distance travelled is 20+40= 60Km by the car.

Total time taken is 1+3=4hrs.

Hence the average speed of the car is given by

S = 60/4 = 15Km/hr
