Given : A train travels from Station 'A' to Station 'Z'. If it does

not stop at any station between Stations 'A' and 'Z',

then it completes its journey at a speed of 80 km/h.

if it stops at all the stations between Stations 'A' and 'Z', then it completes its journey at a speed of 52 km/h

To find : For how many minutes does the train stop per hour

Solution:

Let say Distance  =  D km

Speed 80 km/hr

Time taken = D/80  hrs

Speed 52 km/hr

Time taken = D/52  hrs

Extra time taken   = D/52  - D/80

= ( 20 - 13) D / 1040

= 7D/1040 hrs

(7D/1040) / (D/52)

= 7/20 hrs

= 7 * 60/20  mins

= 21 mins

train stop per hour = 21 mins

Answer:

Let Distance = D km

Speed 80 km/hr Time taken = D/80 hrs

Speed 52 km/hr

Time taken = D/52 hrs

Extra time taken = D/52 - D/80

= (20-13) D / 1040

= 7D/1040 hrs

(7D/1040) / (D/52)

= 7/20 hrs

= 7* 60/20 mins

= 21 mins

Train stop per hour = 21 mins.
