Original Speed of Train = 36 km/Hr

Step-by-step explanation:

A train was late by 6 min. the driver increased its speed by 4 km/hr.

Let say Original Speed of Train  = T km/hr

next station, 36 km away

in Next 36 km train was supposed to take time = 36/T  hr

Increased Speed = T + 4 km/hr

Time taken = 36/(T + 4)  hr

the train reached on time => Train saved 6 mins by increasing speed

6 mins  = 6/60 = 1/10  hrs

=> 36/T  - 36/(T + 4)  = 1/10

=> 360 (T + 4)  - 360T = T(T + 4)

=> 1440 = T² + 4T

=> T² + 4T - 1440 = 0

=> T² + 40T - 36T - 1440 = 0

=> T(T + 40) - 36(T + 40) = 0

=>(T - 36)(T + 40) =0

=> T = 36

Original Speed of Train = 36 km/Hr
