a trait may be inherited but not expressed because in the mohohybrid cross of tall(TT) and short (tt) pea plants the F1 generation was hybrid tall(Tt). In F1 generation both traits were present but the plant was considered or seen to be tall only instead (t) trait was also present in them but was not expressed.
Moreover, when F1 generation was crossed Mendel got all plants short and tall.
Hence, by this we can conclude that a trait may be inherited but not expressed.
