Answer:

The output power is: B) 1100 watt

Explanation:

  • A transformer is a device used for transferring current from one circuit to another circuit. Two coils are there in a transformer - primary coil and secondary coil.
  • Transformer formula: We know that the transformer equations are-

      (1)    \frac{V_p}{V_s} = \frac{N_p}{N_s}      and    (2)  V_p \times I_p = V_s \times I_s

V_p = input voltage of primary coil, V_s =output voltage of secondary coil.

N_p=Number of turns in primary coil,N_s =Number of turns in secondary coil

I_p=  input current of primary coil, I_s =output current of secondary coil.

  • Solution:  N_p = 100,  N_s = 500,  V_p = 220 V

    Putting values in equation (1),  \frac{220}{V_s} = \frac{100}{500}

                                                   220 × 500 = 100V_s

                                                       V_s = 1100 V

      V_s = 1100 V,  V_p = 220 V, I_p = 5A,

   Putting values in equation (2), 220 × 5 = 1100 I_s

                                                      I_s = 1 A

    Output power = V_s \times I_s = 1100 × 1 = 1100 Watt
