Its a simple concept...

When a transversal cuts two parallel lines then:

The corresponding angles are equal.
The vertically opposite angles are equal.
The interior angles on the same side of the transversal are supplementary.

So, in reconceptualizing the corresponding angle property, we get that if a angle is 40
°, Its corresponding angle will also be of the same measure i.e., 40°.
