A transversal intersects two parallsl lines. if the measure of one of the angles is 40,then find the measure of its corresponding angle.

If AB and CD are parallel lines and line l is the transversal,
the sum of corresponding angles is 180° by leniar pair axiam.
let the unknown corresponding angle be x

therefore, angle x + angle 40 = 180°
angle x = 180 - 40 = 140°

therefore the corresponding angle is 140°
