Answer :-

Given :

  • \sf v_1 = 50 m/s
  • \sf v_2 = 75 m/s

\sf v_1 is the speed of 1st half

\sf v_2 is the speed of 2nd half

To find :

Average speed

Formula used :

  • \boxed{\bf\red{V_{avg} = \frac{2v_1 v_2}{v_1 + v_2}}}

Solution :

  • \sf v_1 = 50 m/s
  • \sf v_2 = 75 m/s

Substituting the value in formula

\implies\sf V_{avg} = \frac{2v_1 v_2}{v_1 + v_2}

\implies\sf V_{avg} = \frac{2 \times 50 \times 75}{50 + 75}

\implies\sf V_{avg} = \frac{7500}{125}

\implies\sf V_{avg} = 60 m/s
