Answer:

Let the mass of the tray be x

Then mass of 6 glasses will be 1406 - x grams.

Then mass of 2 glasses will be 538 - x grams

Mass of 1 glass will be = (1406 - x)/6 grams = (538 - x)/2 grams

=(1406 - x)/6 = (538 - x)/2

=(1406 - x)/(538-x) = 3/1

=(1406 - x - 538 + x)/(538 - x) = (3 - 1)/1 [Dividendo]

=(868)/(538 - x) = 2

=434 = 538 - x

=x = 104

Therefore, the mass of the tray is 104 grams
