Answer: Roots

Explanation:

A tree will always have roots with it. Although branches, leaves and shadow of a tree are also present on the tree roots are the major parts.

If a tree wouldn't have roots then it won't be called as a tree but as a trunk or log of wood.

There may be trees without branches and leaves, as in many cases, during the fall season, the trees are short of leaves.

A shadow can be formed of a trunk or a log of wood too, just like a tree but a log and trunk won't have roots with them.

So, the roots of a tree are the main or major parts that need to be present in a tree.
