A tree breaks due to storm and the broken part bends so that the top of the tree touches the
ground where it makes an angle 30° The distance between the foot of the tree to the point
where the top touches the ground is 8 m. Find the height of the tree from where it is broken.

Answer:
Answer is 8 root 3
Step-by-step explanation:
Let AC is the tree which break at B, and the broken part AB become BD.
In triangle BCD,
BC/ DC = tan 30
BC / 8 = 1 / root 3
BC = 8 / root 3
Similarly,
DC / BD = cos 30
8 / BD = root 3 / 2
BD = 16 / root 3
Therefore, height of the tree =>
AC = AB + BC
= 16 / root 3 + 8 / root 3
= 24 / root 3
On rationalize => 24 root 3 / 3
Which means the answer will be 8 root 3
