a tree broke at a point, but did not separate. It's top touched the ground at a distance of 1.5m from its base. If the point where it broke is at a height of 2m from ground, what was the height of the tree when it broke?

first convert it into cm so 1.5 m will be 150 cm and 2 m will be 200 cm

so by phythagoras theoram

H2 = b2+ h2

H2 = 150 2 + 200 2

H2 = 22500 + 40000

H2 = 62500

H2 = √ 62500

H2 =250

so the height of the tree is 250 cm

so 250 cm = 2.5 m
