a tree is at a distance of 24 cm from a convex lens. if the focal length of the lens is 18 cm find how far the image will ne found.also state the position and nature of the image. give reason to support your answer

Answer:

By using lens formula

 \frac{1}{v}  -  \frac{1}{u }  =  \frac{1}{f}

where v = 24 cm , f = 18 cm

  \frac{1}{24}  -  \frac{1}{u}  =  \frac{1}{18}

from this we get, u = -27 cm magnifican of lens is m = v/u

m =  \frac{24}{ - 72}  =  -  \frac{1}{3}
