Let me be more on topic the answer can be found using Pythagorean theorem and after we get our length of the hypotenuse we can the add it up with the remains part means 2.5, then the equation stands for the solve of X is
 \sqrt{ {6}^{2} + {2.5}^{2} } + 2.5 = x \\ \sqrt{36 + 6.25} + 2.5 = x \\ \sqrt{42.25} + 2.5 = x \\ 6.5 + 2.5 = x \\ 9 = x

\\Height of the whole tree is 9

The triangle formed by fallen tree has :
Height = 2.5
Base = 6

Using Pythagoras Theorem
We get the hypotenus(i.e fallen part of the tree) as √( (2.5)²+6²)
=6.5

So, Total Height of Tree = 2.5+6.5 = 9
