A tree is broken by the wind but doesn't separate. If the point from where it breaks is 9m above the ground and it's top touches the ground at a distance of 12m from it's foot, find the total height of the tree before it braeks

This is an example of Pythagoras triangle (right angle triangle).....
It will be -
The height after breaking - 9 M.
The base or the distance - 12 M.
Now the fallen part or the hypotenuse - x
We know a^2 + b^2 = c^2
Here, a=9, b=12 and c is x...
So, 9^2 +12^2 = x^2
: 81+144=x^2
: 225=x^2
: x = √225
: x = 15
The height before its breaking = 15 M. + 9 M. = 24 M.
