Step-by-step explanation:

Let the height of the tree = H meters

The part of the tree that is visible = 2/5 * H

the part which is hidden by the building = H - 2/5 * H = H * [ 1 - 2/5 ]

           = 3/5 * H

the part hidden of the tree = the height of the building

         3/5 * H = 9 meters

               H = 9 * 5 / 3 = 15 meters
