Solution :-

given that,

→ Tree breaks at a point of 5 m high from the foot = Perpendicular height is 5 m .

→ Broken tree part which touches the ground = Hypotenuse length is (20 - 5) = 15 m .

→ Distance between the foot of the tree and the top = Let x m { Base . }

using pythagoras theorem we get,

→ Base = √[Hypotenuse² - Perpendicular²]

→ x = √[15² - 5²]

→ x = √(225 - 25)

→ x = √(200)

→ x = 102 m (Ans.)
