The percentage of Leaves left in tree is 76.5 %

Given data:

1. A  Tree sheds 15% of its leaves in a week

2. 10% of the remaining leaves in the next week

To Find:

What is the percentage of the original number of leaves on the tree?

Solution:

Let suppose, initially Leaves are in plant = 100

Leaves shaded in the first week = 15%

15% of 100 is 15

so, ( 100- 15= 85)

Now leaves shaded in the second week = 10% of remaining leaves ( i.e., 100-15= 85)

Now calculating 10% of rest 85 of leaves present in plant

×85 =8.5

leaves left in tree = (85 - 8.5 =76.5)

Percentage of Leaves left in the tree

×100 ⇒  76.5%

Percentage of Leaves left in tree are 76.5 %
