\huge\underline\mathrm{SOLUTION:-}

AnswEr:

  • The altitude of the triangle = 200 metres.

Given That:

  • A triangle and parallelogram are constructed on the same base such that their area equal.

Need to find:

  • The altitude of the triangle = ?

ExPlanation:

Let,

  • Triangle and parallelogram have common base b,
  • And, altitude of the triangle is h1 and of parallelogram is h2(that is equal to 100 metres).

ThereFore:

Area of triangle = 1/2 × b × h1

Area of parallelogram = b × h2

According to the given condition:

➠ 1/2 × b × h1 = b × h2

➠ 1/2 × b × h1 = b × 100

h1 = 200 metres

  • Hence, the altitude of the triangle = 200 metres
