Area of triangle

= 1/2 * base * height

80x^2 = 1/2*10*2x

80x = 10

x = 10/80 = 1/8

Therefore,

Area = 80*(1/8)^2

= 10/8 = 5/4 = 1.25 m^2

Height = 2x = 2/8 = 1/4

=.25 m

Answer:

Given:

  • A triangle has a base of 10m. If the height is 2x m and the area is 80 x² sq.m

To find:

  • find the area and the height of the triangle.

Solution:

Base = 10m

Height = 2xm

Area = 80x²m

Area of triangle

 \sf{ \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times h}

  \large \longrightarrow\sf{ \frac{80 {x}^{2} }{x} }

Base = 10m

 \large \longrightarrow \sf{x =  \frac{10}{80} =  \frac{1}{8}  }

  \longrightarrow\sf{80  \times  \frac{1}{8}  =  \frac{5}{4} }

Height = 2x sq.m

 \longrightarrow \sf{2 \times  \frac{1}{8}  =  \frac{1}{4} }

Therefore,

The area and height of a triangle = 1/4
