area \: of \: triangle \:  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times base \times \\  height

 \frac{3}{8}  =  \frac{1}{2}  \times b \times  \frac{5}{4}

 \frac{3}{8}  =  \frac{5}{8}b

40b = 24

base \:  =  \:  \frac{24}{40}

base \:  =  \:  \frac{3}{5}
