Given triangle is og sides 5 , 12 , 13

here , 5^2 + 12^2 = 13^2

so it must be a right Angeles triangle with 13 as hypotenuse

so sides 5 and 12 making 90° angle

it's area is = 1/2 × 5 × 12

now if we draw a perpendicular on side 13 from its opposite vertex where 90° angle is there .

then considering 13 as base and drawn perpendicular on it as height ,

area of same triangle = 1/2 × 13 × perpendicular drawn of side 13

so ,

1/2 × 13 × perpendicular drawn of side 13 = 1/2 × 5 × 12

13 × perpendicular drawn of side 13 = 5 × 12

13 × perpendicular drawn of side 13 = 60

perpendicular drawn of side 13 = 60 / 13

perpendicular drawn of side 13 = 4.61 cm
