A tricycle and a bicycle start from the same point at the same time and travel in the opposite directions. The tricycle averages 30 km/h and the bicycle at 20 km/h. In how many hours will they be 100 km apart? ​

since average speed of tricycle is 30 km/h thus it will travel let assume for X hours then the bicycle will travel with average of 20km/h for X hours too.

now we know that distance is equal to speed × time

so the distance covered by tricycle = 30×X

distance covered by bicycle =20×X

total distance 100 km = 30X+20X

50X=100

X=2 hours...
