Answer:

TRICYCLE PURCHASED :- 4000

TRICYCLE SOLD:-3360

Step-by-step explanation:

LOSS=TRICYCLE PURCHASED - TRICYCLE SOLD

= 4000 - 3360

=640

SO,THE LOSS = 640

LOSS '/. = TRICYCLE SOLD÷TRICYCLE PURCHASED×100

= 3360÷4000×100

= 0.84 ×100

= 84 precent

SO,THE LOSS '/, = 84 PERCENT

  • Loss = ₹640
  • Loss % = 16% .

Given :- A tricycle was purchased for ₹4000 and sold for ₹3360.

To Find :- Loss and Loss percent ?

Formula used :-

  • When CP(cost price) is greater than SP(selling price), the seller is said to have incurred loss .
  • Loss = CP - SP .
  • Loss % = (Loss × 100) / CP .

Solution :-

given that,

→ CP of tricycle = ₹4000

→ SP of tricycle = ₹3360

as we can see that,

→ 4000 > 3360

→ CP > SP .

therefore, we have incurred loss .

So,

→ Loss = CP - SP = 4000 - 3360 = ₹640 (Ans.)

then,

→ Loss % = (Loss × 100) / CP

→ Loss % = (640 × 100) / 4000

→ Loss % = (640/40)

→ Loss % = 16% (Ans.)

Extra :-

  • When SP > CP , the seller is said to have incurred profit / gain .
  • Profit = SP - CP
  • Profit % = (Profit × 100) / CP .
