Dear Student,
● Answer - (C)
A Trisomic individual has a chromosome number of 2n + 1.
● Extra information -
- Type of polysomy in which person has 3 copies of particular chromosome is called trisomy.
- As normal person has 2 copies of each chromosome, only one copy is extra.
- Hence, chromosome number is 2n+1 i.e. total chromosomes are 47.
- Most common trisomys are Down's syndrome (trisomy 21), Edward syndrome (trisomy 18), Patau syndrome (trisomy 13), etc.
Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
