Dear Student,

● Answer - (C)

A Trisomic individual has a chromosome number of 2n + 1.

● Extra information -

  • Type of polysomy in which person has 3 copies of particular chromosome is called trisomy.
  • As normal person has 2 copies of each chromosome, only one copy is extra.
  • Hence, chromosome number is 2n+1 i.e. total chromosomes are 47.
  • Most common trisomys are Down's syndrome (trisomy 21), Edward syndrome (trisomy 18), Patau syndrome (trisomy 13), etc.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...
