In first second of its motion, a trolley travel 2.6 m.

To find,

The acceleration of the trolley.

Solution,

As it is starting from rest, u = 0

Using second equation of motion to find its acceleration as :

s=ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2\\\\s=\dfrac{1}{2}at^2\\\\a=\dfrac{2s}{t^2}\\\\a=\dfrac{2\times 2.6}{(1)^2}\\\\a=5.2\ m/s^2

So, the acceleration of the trolley is 5.2\ m/s^2.
