Correct Question

A trolley, while going down an inclined plane,has an acceleration of 2m/s² starting from rest. What will be the velocity 3 seconds after the start?

Solution-

Given that, a trolley while going down an inclined plane,has an acceleration of 2m/s starting from rest.

We have to find the velocity of the trolley, 3 seconds after the start.

From above data we have; initial velocity 0 m/s (as trolley starts from start), acceleration is 2 m/s² and time is 3 seconds.

First equation of motion:

v = u + at

Second equation of motion:

s = ut + 1/2 at²

Third equation of motion:

v² - u² = 2as

We have value of u, a and t and have to find value of v. So,

Using the First Equation Of Motion:

v = u + at

Substitute the known values in the above formula,

→ v = 0 + 2(3)

→ v = 0 + 6

→ v = 6

Therefore, the final velocity of the trolley after 3 second is 6 m/s.
