Given,

  • Speed of the truck (S₁) = 48 km/h
  • Time taken (T₁) = 6 h

From this we can calculate the distance:

\boxed{\sf {Distance={Speed\times Time}}}

\sf{\implies Distance=48\times 6}

\sf{\implies Distance=288 \ km}

Now the speed of the truck is reduced to 36 km\h.

\sf{\implies New \ speed=48-36}

\sf{\implies New \ speed=12 \ km}

Now we have to find the time taken:

\boxed{\sf {Time=\dfrac{Distance}{Speed}}}

\sf {\implies Time=\dfrac{288}{12}}

\sf {\implies Time= 24 \ h}

\boxed{\sf {\therefore Time \ taken = 24 \ hours}}
