A truck heading east has an initial velocity of 6 m/s. It accelerates at 2 m/s2 for 12 seconds. What distance does the truck travel in the given time?

As per the question, the truck is heading towards east.

The initial velocity of the truck [ u] = 6 m/s

The acceleration of the truck a =\ 2\ m/s^2

Let the distance travelled by  the truck is s.

The time taken to travel  that distance t = 12 seconds.

From equation of kinematics we know that-

                                         s=ut+\frac{1}{2} at^2

                                               =6*12+\frac{1}{2}2*12^2

                                               =72+144\ m

                                               =216\ m   [ans]
