Given :-

  • Initial velocity (u) = 60m/s

  • Time (t) = 9 minutes
  • in seconds :- 9×60 = 540 sec

  • Acceleration (a)= 8m/s^2

To find :-

  • Distance covered by the truck !

By using second equation of motion ,

\boxed{\sf\ s= ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2}

\longrightarrow\sf s= 60\times 540 +\dfrac{1}{2}\times 8\times (540)^2\\ \\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf s= 32,400+ \dfrac{1}{\cancel{2}}\times \cancel{8}\times 291,600\\ \\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf s= 32,400+ 4\times 291,600\\ \\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf s= 32,400+1,166,400\\ \\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf s= 1,198,800 m\ \ ( estimate\ this ) \\ \\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf s = 1,200,000 m( now \ convert \ in \ scientific\ notation )  \\ \\ \longrightarrow\sf s = 1.2\times 10^6m

  • Correct option is a

\underline{\bigstar{\sf\  Distance \ travelled \ : \ 1.2\times 10^6m}}

A truck is traveling with 60 ms-1 initial velocity with constant acceleration 8 ms-2. Find the distance traveled by truck in 9 minutes?

{\huge{\bold{\purple{\bigstar{\boxed{\boxed{\bf{Solution}}}}}}}}

{\bold{\blue{\boxed{\bf{Given}}}}}

  • Initial velocity = u = 60m/s
  • Time = t = 9 minutes = 540 sec
  • Acceleration = a = 8m/s^2

{\bold{\blue{\boxed{\bf{To\:find}}}}}

  • Distance covered = s = ???

{\bold{\blue{\boxed{\bf{solution}}}}}

{\bold{\blue{\boxed{\bf{s = ut + \dfrac{1}{2}at^2}}}}}

\sf\implies s = 60\times 540 \dfrac{1}{2} \times 8 \times 540^2

\sf\implies s = 60\times 540+\dfrac{1}{\cancel 2} \times\cancel 8 \times 540^2

\sf\implies s = 60\times 540 + 4 \times 540^2

\sf\implies s = 60\times 540 + 4 \times 291600

\sf\implies s = 32400+ 1166400

\sf\implies s = 1198800m

  • round off the digit

\sf\implies s = 1200000m

\sf\implies s = 1.2 \times 10^6meter

{\bold{\blue{\boxed{\bf{\dag correct answer = a = 1.2\times 10^6meter}}}}}
