Answer:-

Given:

Mass of the truck (m) = 1000 kg.

Initial Velocity of the truck (u) = 36 * 5/18 m/s = 10 m/s.

Final Velocity of the truck (v) = 72 * 5/18 m/s = 20 m/s.

Time taken (t) = 20 s.

We know that,

 \sf{Acceleration(a) =  \frac{v - u}{t} } \\  \\  →\sf{Acceleration \:  of \: the \: truck \:  =  \frac{20 - 10}{20} } \\  \\ → \sf{a =  \frac{10}{20} } \\  \\  →\sf{Acceleration \: of \: the \: truck \:  = 0.5 {ms}^{ - 2} }

Now ,

Force applied = mass of the truck * acceleration

→ \sf{F = 1000 \: kg \times 0.5 \:  {ms}^{ - 2} } \\  \\  →\sf{F = 500 \: kg {ms}^{ - 2} } \\  \\  →\sf{F = 500 \: N}

Hence, the force applied is 500 N.
