Answer :

  • 16000N is the Force acting on it

Given :

  • A truck mass 8000kg starts from rest and rolls down a hill with constant acceleration
  • It travels a distance of 400m in 20 s.

To find :

  • Acceleration
  • Forcing on it .if it mass is 7 metric tonnes

Solution:

  • Distance travelled (s) = 400m
  • Time (t) = 20 s
  • Initially velocity (u) = 0 m/s

First we need to find the acceleration by using the second equation of motion:

By using the second equation of motion

  • s = ut + 1/2 at²

Where,

  • s is distance travelled
  • u is Initially velocity
  • t is time
  • a is acceleration

➞ s = ut + 1/2 at²

➞ 400 = 0 × (20) + 1/2 × a × (20)²

➞ 400 = 0 + 1/2 × a × 400

➞ 200a = 400

➞ a = 400/200

a = 2 m/s²

Acceleration (a) = 2 m/s²

Now, we need to find the force acting on it

We know that,

Force = Mass × Acceleration

Given that, mass is 8000 kg

➞ 2 × 8000 kg

16000N

Hence , 16000 N is the Force acting on it .
