A truck runs 476 km on 56L of diesel.
(1) how many kilometer will it run on 198L of diesel?
(2)How much diesel will it need to cover 408 km?

476km = 56l \\  \:  \:  \:  \: xkm = 198l \\  \: 56 \times x = 198 \times 476 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  56x = 94248 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x =  \frac{94248}{56}  = 1683km

(ii)

 \:  \: 476km = 56l \\  \:  \: 408km = xl \\ 476 \times x = 56 \times 408 \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  476x = 22848 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x =  \frac{22848}{476}  = 48l
