Answer:

Explanation:

ANSWER:-

  • Distance is 400 metre
  • Time is 20 seconds.
  • We need it's acceleration,
  • Given that initial speed is zero.

To find Final Speed,

\sf{Speed = \dfrac{Distance}{Time}}

= \dfrac{400}{20}

\sf{v = 20 m/s}

Now,

\sf{s = ut+\dfrac{1}{2}at^2}

\sf{400=\dfrac{1}{2}a \times (20)^2}

\sf{a = \dfrac{400 \times 2}{400}}

\sf{a = 2m/s}

Now,

\sf{F=m \times a}

\sf{F=7000 \times 2}

\sf{F= 14000 \ Newton }

Some Units:-

  • Newton for Force.
  • Mass is Kilogram
  • Acceleration is metre per scond square.
  • Speed is metre per second.

★ A truck starts from rest and rolls down a hill with a constant acceleration. It travels a distance of 400 m in 20 s. Find its acceleration. Find the force acting on it if it’s mass is 7 tonnes (Hint: 1 tonne = 1000 kg.)

✒ The acceleration is 2m/s² & the force acting on it 14000 N.

Given :-

  • A truck starts from rest and rolls down a hill with a constant acceleration.

  • It travels a distance of 400 m in 20 s.

To Find :-

  • Its acceleration.

  • The force acting on it if it’s mass is 7 tonnes.

Solution :-

According to the question ,

A truck starts from rest and rolls down a hill with a constant acceleration.

  • Initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s

It travels a distance of 400 m in 20 s.

  • Distance covered(s) = 400m

  • Time taken (t) = 20 s.

We know the second equation of motion,

s = ut + ½ at²

(We have some given data.Using in formulae.)

➝ 400 = 0 + ½ × a × (20)²

➝ 400 = 0 + ½ × a × 400

  \dfrac{400}{400} = 0 + ½ × a

➝ 1 = ½ × a

a = 2 m/s²

So, the acceleration is 2 m/s².

We have mass of 7 tonne,

=> 1 tonne = 1000 kgs

=> So , 7 tonne = 7 × 1000 = 7000 kg.

So, our mass is 7000 kg & acceleration

is 2 m/s².

We know ,

Force = mass × acceleration

➝ F = ma

➝ F = 7000 × 2

F = 14000 N

The force acting on it is 14000 N.
