A truck travelling due north at 50 km/h turns west and travel at the same speed .What is the change in velocity .

v1 = 50 m/s due to north
v2 = 50 m/s due to west
change in velocity = v2-v1
|v2-v1| = √(v1²+ (-v2)²)
=√(50²+50²)
=√2500+2500
=√5000
=70.71 m/s
