A true breeding plant is one that produces the offsprings of it's own kind."To breed true " means it will be able to inherit the similar genetic material to it's offsprings. Resemblance between the ancestors and the offsprings, is the base on which true to breed concept lies. There is always the common characteristics that will be inherited to the next generation.Making the progenies of it's own kind means the plant or any organism is TRUE TO BREED. Hope it helps to understand the concept of truely bred plant or any organism.
