A tub can be filled in 20 minutes but there is a leakage in it which can empty the full tub in 60minutes. In how many minutes it can be filled?

Given that......a tube can be filled in 20 minutes
so it will be filled in 1 minute = 1/20

and a leakage can empty the full tube (so we use here negative sign) in 60 minutes, so it will empty it in 1 minute = –1/60

So L.C.M. = 1/20 – 1/60 = (3 – 1)/60

=> 2/60 = 1/30

So it can be filled in 30 minutes.
