see,any mechanism isn't 100% efficient the efficiency is lost due to factors such as friction  and other factors.

In bulbs the 90% of electric energy is required to light the bulb and other 10% is the light we get .

tungsten reduces the power wastage but it is a pricey metal .

If any other metal such as copper would be used it would melt as melting point of copper is 1085*c where as that of tungsten is 3422*c nearly thrice of aluminium and the temperature inside the bulb is 2550*c.

so Tungsten"s durability is more than any metal.
