A tuning fork is made to vibrate in air but the sound produced is not audible because it followed The sound of propagation in which the sound need to medium to travel . Sound also travel fast in solid than liquid or air. So that's why sound produce by tuning fork is not audible in air.

because it is not in the audible frequency rate which is 20hz - 20,000hz and sound needs a medium to travel though sound can travel through air the sound is not going to be that audible but if it had to travel through solids it would be audible
