Since the tuning fork produces 5 beats per second with the source of frequency 300 so its frequency could either be (300+5) or (300-5).

As it says after loading with wax it still produces 5 beats and we know on loading with wax the frequency of the tuning fork gets reduced.

So if it would've been 295 it would have become even lesser thereby increasing the no. Of beats to more than 5.

However if it was originally 305 so it couldve have been reduced toh 295 thus no. Of beats remaining same.
