Answer:

X = 8000

Step-by-step explanation:

a tv set is being sold for Rs. x in Delhi. A dealer went to Chandigarh and bought the TV set at 20% discount (from the price of Delhi). He spent Rs. 600 on transport. Thus he sold the set in Delhi for making (100/7)% profit. Find the value of x.

Selling Price = X  Rs

Bought at 20 % Discount = X - (20/100)X = 0.8X  Rs

Transport Cost = Rs 600

Cost Price = 0.8X + 600  Rs

Profit Made = 100/7 %  =  ((100/7)/100)(0.8X + 600)

= (0.8X + 600) /7

Selling Price = 0.8X + 600 +  (0.8X + 600) /7

= (0.8X + 600)*8/7

(0.8X + 600)*8/7 = X

=> 6.4X + 4800 = 7X

=> 0.6X = 4800

=> X = 8000

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

20%==1/5

4/5*x+600)+1/7*(4/5x+600)==X

4/5x+600+4/35x+600/7==x

32x/35+4800/7==x

3x/35==4800/7

X===4800*35/21==8000Rs
