a TV tower stands vertically on a bank of a Canal from a point on the other bank directly opposite the tower the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is 60° from. 10 m away from this point on the same bank the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is 30° find the height of the tower and the width of the canal

Let the height of the tower be h and width of the canal be w.

tan 60=h/w=√3

h=w√3 equation 1

tan 30=h/(w+10)=1/√3

w+10=h√3 equation 2

put the value of h from equation 1 in equation 2

w+10=w√3×√3=3w

2w=10

w=5

put this value of w in equation 1, you will get

h=5√3
