Let the digit at tens place be x and the digit at tens place be y.
Therefore, the original number = 10x + y.
Given that two digit number is 4 times the sum.
= > 10x + y = 4(x + y)
= > 10x + y = 4x + 4y
= > 6x = 3y
= > 2x = y ------ (1)
Given that it is three times the product of its digit.
= > 10x + y = 2xy
= > 10x + 2x = 2xy
= > 12x = 2xy
= > y = 6.
Substitute y = 6 in (1), we get
= > 2x = y
= > 2x = 6
= > x = 3.
Hence, the number = 10x + y
= > 10(3) + 6
= > 36.
Therefore, the original number = 36.
Hope this helps!
