❉ Question :-

A two digit number is 4 times the sum of its digits and twice the product of the digits.

❉ To find :-

The unknown number = ?

❉ Solution :-

Let the two digit number be 10x + y

where x is the tens place and y is the ones place

CONDITION 1 :-

10x+y = 4 ( x + y )

10x+y = 4x + 4y

10x - 4x = 4y - y

6x = 3y

Divide the whole equation by 2

2x = y ________ ( 1 )

CONDITION 2 :-

10x+y = 2xy

By substituting y = 2x ( equation 1 ) ;

10x + 2x = 2x ( 2x)

12x = 4x²

x = 12 /4

=> x = 3

y = 2x = 2(3)

y = 6

Now the two digit number be 10x + y

= 10 (3) + 6

=> 36

Hence the two digit number is 36.
