Let ,
the unit's place digit be x
the ten's place digit be y.
∴ The number formed = 10y + x
According to question,
10y+x=4(y+x)
⇒10y+x=4y+4x
⇒10y−4y=4x−x
⇒6y=3x
⇒x= 6/3y
⇒x=2y ___________ (1)
and also,
10y+x=3yx
⇒10y+2y=3y(2y) [from (1)]
⇒12y=6y^ 2
⇒12=6y
⇒y=2 from (1),
∴ x=2×2 =4
Hence the required number = 10×2+2
=20+4
=24
